Welcome to the 69th Warbirds Squadron

Our squadron is composed of virtual bomber pilots, fighter pilots and tank commanders from around the world who enjoy air and ground combat in the World War I and World War II computer environment of iENTERTAINMENT NETWORKS Total Simulation Series known as Warbirds, Dawn of Aces and Armored Assualt.

We hope you enjoy your visit and periodically check back for improvements and new material posted by our squadron members.

In remembrance:

The 69th is not just a name

Our squadron members researched the actual 69th Composite Wing that served as part of the 14th Air Force under the US Army Air Forces in World War II.  The 69th was composed of two groups for the war the 51st Fighter Group (16th, 25th 26th and 449th Fighter Squadrons) and the 341st Bombardment Group (11th, 22nd, 491st and 490th Bombardment Squadrons).  Sadly the 69th did not have any distinctive unit crest or aircraft marking during the war, but it did serve with distinction within China from 1943 – 1945 and played a key role in the eventual defeat of Imperial Japanese Forces in mainland China.  The 14th Air Force was small in comparison to other Air Forces operating in Europe, and functioned at the end of a very long supply line that relied heavily on the Chinese military and population for support. Despite the challenges of supply the 69th and other elements of the 14th Air Force conducted a steady stream of successful bombing missions utilizing various aircraft to include B25s and B24s against Japanese shipping and lines of communications.  For its efforts the 69th was awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation in 1945.

Our modern 69th Warbirds squadron salutes the efforts of all of the men and woman in uniform, especially those during World War I and World War II.

In addition we do not advocate nor condone violence.  We merely simulate the thrills and chills of World War I and World war II aerial combat in the comfort of one’s own home.
